Sub Contract Machining

 

The Light Aircraft Company Ltd offer a subcontract manufacturing facility for aircraft builders and aircraft kit manufacturers.

 

3 Axis CNC router

To keep up with production on both aluminium sheet components and aircraft grade plywood we have made a major investment in a 3 axis CNC router. The operating axis's are X 1300mm Y2500mm and Z200mm , the machine comes with a multi zone vacuum hold down bed as well as conventional Tee slots, all axis's have servo drive with recirculating ballscrew leadscrews and a 4kw 24,000rpm liquid cooled cutter head with an ER25 collet system. This system will see many of the sheet and thin plate components finished and ready to fit as opposed to finished but held on stock plates by tabs, it will also see all plywood items finished in the same way. We will also be able to handle aluminium control panels of any width for any aircraft, all we would need as a dxf/dwg file.

 

 

We can work from "back of the fag packet" sketches through to 2D AutoCAD Catia and 3D Solidworks files. We can offer full 3D machining via our vertical machining centre, turning and laser wood cutting.
